Job Description

Zambezi’s award-winning full-service production studio, FIN Studios , is seeking a conceptual, innovative Sr. Motion Designer to join the team. FIN Studios creates compelling commercial and original content and we are looking for someone to support our nascent motion design studio.

The ideal candidate has a keen eye for design, substantial experience in both 2D and 3D animation and can tell a story through conceptual visual ideas and bring them to life across multiple channels. Must be willing and excited to work hands-on, as well as support the Studio Motion Design Director to lead and oversee various projects. Ideally you have solid production studio experience and are looking for a place where you can grow and do your best work in an exciting creative and executional environment.

This position will report to the Studio Motion Design Director. 

Candidate must be located in the greater Los Angeles area. FIN operates in a hybrid manner and we encourage collaborative creative work sessions at our Culver City studio.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Support Studio Motion Design Director by developing design concepts from brief to execution
• Skilled in visual storytelling to align with client strategies across various disciplines
• Collaborate with Studio Motion Design Director , production, agency teams, and external partners to bring concepts to life
• Pitch and execute innovative, next level concepts
• Create expressive, brand-aligned animations rooted in strong motion principles
• Quickly storyboard, ideate, and develop new concepts based on stakeholder input and self-driven research
• Work closely with creative directors, art directors, designers, and producers to deliver polished final animations
• Inspire teammates, give and receive constructive feedback, and encourage a respectful critique process
• Manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and keep projects moving forward
• Stay updated on trends in animation, design, interactive media, art, and culture

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years experience working in a creative environment creating world class content and a diverse and forward thinking contemporary portfolio to match
• Expert knowledge of Adobe CS Suite, C4D and Redshift (other software knowledge experience and expertise a plus)
• Conceptual thinker and executor with the ability to execute various types of motion design and 2D & 3D animation
• Submission of reel/portfolio and resume required
• General knowledge of sports and popular culture a must 
• Can-do attitude, flexible with demands of a fast-paced environment
• Ability to collaborate across teams and departments
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask

The salary range for this po sition is $90-125K. Ex actly where a prospective employee will be paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, the candidate’s depth of experience and qualifications in relation to the job description and the actual job duties of the role. In addition to salary, we also offer comprehensive benefits (covering 100% medical, dental, vision and offer open PTO, and more). The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles to find the right candidate for Zambezi.
