**Job Title: Joint Training Specialist**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Joint Training Specialist with a strong background in joint military operations to contribute to the development and execution of computer-assisted joint exercises and rehearsals. This role is pivotal in enhancing joint military capabilities through the use of innovative training and simulation technologies.
**Job Description:**
The Joint Training Specialist will serve interchangeably as a Models and Simulation Instructor Controller and an MSEL Planner, playing a crucial role throughout the Joint Event Life Cycle, from Concept Development Conference through Exercise Execution. This includes providing expertise in exercise control group operations, managing the Master Scenario Events List (MSEL), and offering simulation support to mimic operational techniques, tactics, and procedures of maneuver forces using various simulations.
While the focus will be on one primary position, the ability to flex and support the other role is essential.
**Duties:**
**Instructor Controller:**
- Proficiency in at least one of the following models and simulations, with the ability to learn others as needed:
- Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM)
- Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS)
- Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF)
- Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS)
- Joint Low Overhead Driver (JLOD)
- Low Overhead Training System (LOTS)
- Master and deliver platform instruction for various simulations.
- Maintain proficiency in joint and service doctrine and obtain certification in specified models and simulations.
- Perform workstation controller tasks during exercise events, including instructing gaming augmentees and facilitating exercise response cell supervision.
- Support simulation development efforts, including testing new versions and serving as Senior Control or Deputy Test Director.
- Other duties as required.
**MSEL Planner:**
- Serve as the Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) Planner, preparing the MSEL for joint/combined exercises and events.
- Coordinate with supported military customers and the Joint Exercise Support Team during exercise planning and execution.
- Develop the MSEL using the Joint Training Tool (JTT), provide MSEL overview briefings, and coordinate the JMSEL database.
- Assist the lead planner in Scenario and MSEL management and development.
- Perform duties as MSEL Coordinator during exercise execution and provide instruction in JMSEL operations to the Exercise Control Group.
- Attend exercise planning conferences and coordination meetings as required.
- Other duties as required.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Preferred experience as a commissioned officer, non-commissioned officer, or DoD civilian equivalent, including 3 years of experience in planning and conducting military training for a service or joint/combined organization.
- Proven ability to prepare and conduct seminars, work groups, and training sessions for large and small groups, as well as post-exercise analysis.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with senior government and military personnel, as well as contractors from other companies.
- Capable of remote work with limited supervision.
- Working knowledge of JTIMS, JMSEL, or the JTT.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Secret Security Clearance is required, with the ability to meet TS/SCI clearance level eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Ability to travel unassisted to CONUS and OCONUS locations to perform duties in various environments, with travel up to 40%.
