Job Description

Job Title: Slitter Operator

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00/hr.

Shift: 2nd Shift, Mon - Friday, 1:30pm - 12:00am

Job Summary:

Operate the slitter effectively and efficiently while keeping the safety of yourself and fellow employees a priority.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operator acts as Team Leader for his/her shift’s operation.
• Keeping area clean and free from safety hazards.
• Measurement tools are verified daily.
• Scrap, trash, etc. is disposed of in proper containers.
• Signing off work instructions is done and up to date.
• Operational audits as assigned.
• Reviewing work orders and ensuring all requirements are met.
• Verifying all details (correct information, correct material, correct size, customer specifications).
• Monitoring material while running a job.
• Taking pictures and downloading into system during a job.

Required Work Experience & Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
• Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent. 
• Shift flexibility. 
• Must be able to read a tape measure and know decimal to inch conversion.
• Must have general computer knowledge.
• Must be able to work well and communicate well with others.
• Must use great attention to detail.
• Must have experience in understanding steel defects.
• Must have experience with heavy machinery.

This position is very labor intensive and physically demanding. - Must be able to continuously lift 35+ pounds and able to stand for a long period of time. 

Drug screen and background check required.
