Job Description
The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer will oversee the development and coordination of tooling for laser, vibration, and ultrasonic welding machinery. This role requires a combination of engineering expertise, project management skills, and innovative thinking. The successful candidate will ensure that tooling projects are completed on time, meet technical requirements, and adhere to high-quality standards.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: - Collaborate with the international design team to develop, optimize, and improve tooling for complex mechanical and electro-mechanical automation products, including jigs, fixtures, and assemblies.
- Address sophisticated engineering challenges with innovative solutions to improve tooling performance, ensuring designs meet industry standards of function and performance, while adhering to safety laws
- Lead and manage multiple tooling development projects, creating schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure accurate completion and cost control
- Provide engineering support for tooling, machine operation, modifications, maintenance, and supplier interactions, while maintaining detailed project documentation and records.
- Deliver training for customers and new employees through various programs, and stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and standard processes in tooling design and manufacturing.
- Lead the coordination of multiple projects between manufacturing, planning & buying teams. Including tryout and acceptance at supplier and customer.
- Provide engineering documentation for machinery and fixtures to customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

For This Role, You Will Need: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in tooling development for industrial equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record to collaborate effectively with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with experience in analyzing complex technical issues and creating effective solutions.
- Physical capability to transport materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: - Advanced degree (e.g., MS in Engineering) or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP).
- 5+ years of experience in tooling development for industrial equipment.
- Proven track record in managing complex engineering projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of tooling design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks).
- Familiarity with Oracle EBS.
