What we are looking for SCS Engineers is looking for a Project Manager to join our Renewable Energy Division. The division focuses on renewable energy design/build/operate projects in the renewable biogas and renewable power markets. SCS Energy's biogas-to-energy facilities currently operating, or currently under design or construction, will remove more than 2,000,000 metric tons/year of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) in greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere. Our projects help a diversified client base achieve their renewable energy goals by reducing their carbon footprint and creating useful by-products from waste material. SCS builds systems that power universities, wastewater treatment plants and dairies; generate renewable natural gas sales; and support electric utilities.
The Project Manager will handle day-to-day project management of the design, construction and commissioning of renewable power and gas-processing facilities as well as detailed engineering activities. Project size will range from $45MM to $80MM. We prefer this position be hybrid in our Long Beach, CA Headquarters, but we are open to remote work or someone being hybrid out of another SCS office.
How you can make an impact - The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project delivery from contract award through engineering, procurement, permitting, contracting, construction, commissioning and closeout.
- Coordinate design requirements with multi-disciplined engineering teams including in-house resources, as well as outside sub-consultants, to ensure a complete engineering design.
- Ability to review technical project documents and present the information in a clear and concise manner.
- Responsible for ensuring the facility is compliant with contract requirements.
- Works closely with the construction management team to generate construction RFP documents, solicit bids, perform technical and commercial bid reviews, and select contractors to execute the construction work.
- Manages the project budget including cost tracking and forecasting.
- Manages risk and change control. Generating change orders for deviations in project scope.
- Manages and approves all project expenditures, working closely with project personnel for material purchasing.
- Lead client liaison for all project related needs.
- Perform site walkdowns with the construction management team, interfacing with site contractors for quality, safety and performance.
- Coordination with the commissioning team and equipment OEMs to schedule site startup and commissioning activities.
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering preferred, but Bachelor's Degree in Science, Construction or Engineering required.
- 8 years of related experience required.
- 5 + years of that experience must be in project management preferably in the power or petrochemical markets.
- Registered Professional Engineer is preferred.
- Experience and success with business development activities.
- Successful experience leading and managing staff.
- Valid driver's license with a driving required in good standing required.
- Must be able to travel (25% of the time) in support of project execution, construction/commissioning support, and team building/industry conference type events.
Pay Range USD $50,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.
