Ability to obtain Public Trust Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a Policy Analyst II to support the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Minority Health. The candidate will provide subject matter expertise on policy and programmatic activities, develop and review technical documents and other materials, and perform other duties to support policy and programmatic efforts.
The Office of Minority Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services was created in 1986 as one of the most significant outcomes of the landmark 1985 Secretary's Task Force Report on Black and Minority Health. The mission of the Office of Minority Health is to improve the health of racial and ethnic minority populations through the development of health policies and programs that will help eliminate health disparities.
Duties and Responsibilities - Provide subject matter expertise to inform the development and improvement of outputs and deliverables from OMH program and policy initiatives focused on racial and ethnic health disparities and health equity.
- Draft, provide substantive review of, and coordinate the review of technical documents and other materials from OMH program and policy initiatives focused on racial and ethnic health disparities and health equity.
- Help convene and coordinate, or participate actively as a subject matter expert in, meetings on programmatic and policy efforts.
- Support the documentation of progress, milestones, and core achievements, and reporting on OMH program and policy initiatives.
- Work with the Program Office to identify and resolve complex problems.
- Have responsibility for several projects, simultaneously.
Job Qualifications: - Must have a minimum of six (6) years of experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
- Ability to obtain and retain a Public Trust clearance
- Ability to work well with a team in a high visibility, fast paced environment.
- Must be flexible in balancing competing and new priorities with strong analytic, communication and writing skills.
- Understanding of the public health or healthcare system/field.
