Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and licensed pharmacist to join our remote order verification team. In this role, you will support multiple hospitals by helping ensure the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals for patients. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to monitor, verify, and evaluate patient medications, contributing to positive clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and verify medication orders using ACEIT and other medication processes.
Assess, plan, and implement patient care in compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and procedures.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure appropriate, safe, and effective medication use.
Make clinical decisions and recommendations based on professional judgment to enhance patient outcomes.
Supervise and support any staff working under your guidance.
Use a variety of office equipment (computer, phone, fax, etc.) to manage daily tasks and communications.
Qualifications:
Licensure: Must be licensed in good standing as a pharmacist by the State Pharmacy Board in Arkansas or Oklahoma. Additional licensure in Texas is encouraged.
Education: Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program or a program deemed equivalent by a certifying agency.
Experience: At least one year of supervisory experience is required.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to make decisions independently and manage tasks with attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability.
Ability to analyze data and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Good visual acuity and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 30 pounds, including medical supplies and equipment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for extended periods, especially when setting up equipment or performing patient care functions.
Working Conditions:
The position is primarily based in an indoor, temperature-controlled environment.
Occasional outdoor exposure may occur.
You may be exposed to blood and body fluids as part of your duties.
Ability to work in high-stress situations, particularly in disaster scenarios or urgent care needs.
Additional Requirements:
Regular, reliable attendance is expected.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Ability to stay on-site in the event of a disaster or other emergency situation.
Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
