Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Our client is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in operating room services. The RN IIB position is a licensed staff nurse who functions at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benner's clinical practice model. The successful candidate will provide professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatment, educate patients, and maintain medical records. The RN IIB position requires the ability to provide direct patient care effectively and efficiently, including patients with varied and complex needs. The candidate will also collaborate with physicians and the interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate, coordinate and maintain compassionate, efficient, quality care and achieve desired treatment outcomes. The RN IIB position involves progressive responsibility and may include participating in or leading unit and shared governance initiatives, serving as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees, and contributing to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
At least 12 months of registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
Texas RN license or temporary TX RN license with the requirement to obtain a permanent license within 90 days
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
Other credentials and certifications as defined by unit/service line
American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) recognized certification in an applicable specialty area (preferred)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Demonstrated skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, as determined through ongoing skills and competency assessments and performance evaluations
Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language
Effective communication with patients, physicians, family members, and coworkers in a customer service-focused manner
Strong assessment, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in interactions with physicians, interprofessional care team, and patients and their families
Critical thinking skills and clinical judgment to work autonomously
Proficient time management skills
Ability to maintain a level of professional contributions as defined in the Clinical Career Path program guide
Working knowledge of Microsoft products, including Outlook

Pay Range: $84,186 - $120,000 per year
