Role Overview:

We are seeking a Media Editor to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing and recommending the creation and publication of digital and ancillary materials that support the teaching and learning of biology, biochemistry, and other life science disciplines. Your work will help enrich the learning experience for both instructors and students, making the teaching process more effective and engaging. The Media Editor will also manage major projects and relationships independently, ensuring high-quality, accurate work is delivered on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities:

Vendor Management: Select, hire, negotiate with, and correspond with multimedia vendors regarding ongoing or upcoming multimedia products and tasks.
Project Coordination: Plan, initiate, and oversee projects in collaboration with the Program Manager, Development Editor, Content Producer, and Production team.
Communication: Maintain clear and collaborative communication with project stakeholders about project status, issues, scheduling, and budget.
Content Oversight: Identify, assess, hire, negotiate, and manage authors and freelancers for multimedia content and projects. Ensure the delivery of quality, on-time content and software for production.
Project Management: Oversee all phases of projects, including distributing page proofs and materials, providing written instructions, and ensuring media authors follow guidelines and meet quality standards.
Collaboration: Attend meetings with Central Media, Editorial, and Marketing to assess user needs and recommend changes to scheduling and content based on gathered information.
Inquiry Response: Address inquiries and requests from marketing and sales teams regarding their projects.
Development and Research: Review existing products, ensure they meet quality standards, investigate competitors' media offerings, and provide recommendations for new ventures.
Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree or higher.
2+ years of editorial experience.
1+ years of media editorial experience.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation.
Effective verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:

Background or degree in Biology or a related discipline.
Master's degree or higher.
Experience in curriculum design.
Salary Range: $54,000 - $58,000 per year

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Physical Requirements:

Requires extended periods of close concentration and strong multi-tasking skills.
Occasional need to work over 40 hours a week.
