Kate’s Club’s vision is to create a world in which it’s okay to grieve, and we want you to join us in this work. We are a community for children, families, and young adults experiencing the death of someone important to them. The organization brings people together around grief, creating safe - both in-person and online - educational, recreational and therapeutic spaces designed to help everyone express the emotions that come with such a loss. We are growing our programs to help expand the support of those who are grieving, and we want your help.

We’re looking for a social media and content enthusiast

This intern will focus on content creation to support Kate’s Club’s brand awareness through its social media presence. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Associate, this intern will have a passion for marketing and content creation, with an eagerness to learn more about marketing at a mid-sized nonprofit organization. This internship will be 10 hours per week and will require attending programs with kids, families, and young adults on some nights and weekends.

What You’ll Do

Social Media Content

• Attend Kate’s Club programs to take photos and videos for social media sites
• Create graphics promoting Kate’s Club programs and campaigns, including Memory Walk and year-end fundraising appeal
• Create engaging short-form videos for TikTok and Facebook and Instagram Reels
• Understand and adhere to Kate’s Club’s brand guidelines and voice in all content creation

Social Media Analytics

• Maintain detailed records of social media metrics
• Analyze social media metrics for trends
• Conduct industry research to identify trends, opportunities, competitive research, and customer sentiment
• Provide suggestions and guidance to improve social media impact

Website Management

• Improve SEO on new and existing blog content
• Work with external team on website maintenance

Marketing Support

• As needed support on other marketing efforts, such as collateral design, eNewsletter design, slide deck design, etc.

What you will bring

• A background and career path in marketing, communications, journalism, media, or data is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Extremely detail-oriented and organized, professional, consistent, reliable, proactive
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and be resourceful in a hybrid work environment
• Aptitude for data management and technology systems, including proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Google Suite
• Understanding of and proficiency with social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and Twitter
• Graphic design skills and experience with Canva a plus
