Job Description

We are looking for a part-time (20 hours/week), hybrid, Legal Assistant in Tucson!

In this role you'll support an attorney at an established boutique divorce & estate planning law firm.

Duties include court filings (ie, e-filing), drafting routine pleadings, conducting discovery, and opening and maintaining files throughout the course of legal proceedings.
Computer skills (Adobe Acrobat, Excel and Word), strong drafting abilities, and multi-tasking skills are essential.

This hourly part-time role comes with flexibility so you can choose your schedule. It's perfect for someone who can work 2 - 8 hours daily, Monday - Friday, up to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Draft routine correspondence and other documents for clients and attorneys
• Draft pleadings, motions, and notices; prepare, organize and distribute discovery; filings/errands in Court; E-filing
• Prepare initial estate plan draft templates
• Process, organize, and distribute confidential and sensitive documents
• Maintain case file and court calendar for client matters
• Prepare courtesy copy packets for judges and correspond with courts on legal case management
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of judge’s standing orders
• Review and analyze financial information submitted by client throughout course of case
• Any additional substantive legal tasks as assigned by Attorney

Requirements:

• 1+ years working in a legal setting
• 2+ years using Microsoft Word
• Able to pass a background check
• Able to come onsite in the Tucson office once a week
