Summary of Job Duties:

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing electrical wiring and fixtures in campus buildings; pulling wire/cable; trouble shooting electrical problems; installing and terminating fiber optic cable and category 6 data cable. Repairing/maintaining small electrical motors. Be on-call for after hour emergencies/inclement weather.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Arkansas Journeyman Electrician License according to ACA 17-28-304.
  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • At least five years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician
  • Valid Driver's license


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least six years experience as a Journeyman/Master Electrician


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the methods, practices, and safety precautions in one or more of the skilled trades
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to one or more of the skilled trades
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, building plans, and/or work drawings
  • Skill in the use and care of tools and machinery used in one or more of the skilled trades

$45,500 - $48,000 commensurate with experience and licensure
