Job Overview: As a
Job Coach , you will play a crucial role in providing personalized 1:1 support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) at their workplaces. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily tasks, promoting skill development related to their job duties, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. You will work closely with individuals to help them succeed and grow in their roles, ensuring they have the support needed to thrive in their employment.
Key Responsibilities: - Act as an employment specialist providing individual support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their workplaces.
- Utilize employment specialist skills to facilitate learning and job maintenance through worksite monitoring, routine employer meetings, and problem-solving for job accommodations and training.
- Coordinate with individuals, their families, or residential/supported living providers to ensure necessary support for timely arrivals, appropriate attire, and work-related items such as lunch and snacks.
- Assist in submitting accurate, legible, and timely billing, payroll, and individual-related documentation when needed.
- Serve as an advocate in the workplace, supporting individuals in developing positive work relationships.
- Provide advocacy and support through effective communication strategies for requests related to increased hours, pay, and/or promotions.
- Ensure all outlined individualized support plan (ISP) supports are applied and all required training for this position is completed.
- Communicate any issues to the Support Employment Manager when appropriate.
- Fulfill any other duties as assigned in this role as a Job coach.
Qualifications: - Must be 18 years or older and passionate about making a difference.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to perform physical requirements, including lifting approx. 50 lbs.
- Possess basic skills in reading, writing, mathematics, and computer usage.
- Successfully pass a level II background check.
- Demonstrate adaptability and a positive attitude to excel in a dynamic environment.
