Job Description

Summary:

The I.T. & Systems Coordinator provides technical assistance for the Child Development Program in managing and supporting hardware and software applications. The position is responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues, understanding user needs, and recommending appropriate solutions. Additionally, this role involves administering and maintaining the program’s technology infrastructure, networks, systems, and technical assistance services in collaboration with the agency's Information Technology staff.

Essential Functions:

1. Software Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance

2. Electronic Device Management:

  • Maintenance, distribution, and lifecycle management of electronic devices.

3. Asset Management:

  • Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software assets.

4. Vendor Liaison:

  • Stay updated on technology trends and engage with vendors to meet program needs.

5. Procurement and Leasing:

  • Review, purchase, and allocate new and existing devices.

6. Technical Support:

  • Provide desktop support and troubleshoot technical issues.

7. Network and Server Maintenance:

  • Ensure the reliability, security, and functionality of the network and servers.

8. System Administration:

  • Administer Office 365, including email distribution and user accounts.

9. Third-Party Liaison:

  • Act as the primary contact for external IT vendors and service providers.

10. Training and Development:

  • Conduct trainings for staff and pursue continuing education opportunities.

11. Work Log Maintenance:

  • Maintain a detailed log of work requests and resolutions.

12. Network Monitoring:

  • Oversee the logging and monitoring of network conditions and requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Education:
  • Minimum: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 3 years of experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 3 years of experience.
  • Licenses & Clearances:
  • Valid driver’s license and operational motor vehicle.
  • Criminal background clearance.
  • Physical examination with TB test.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, networks, and software applications.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Maintains physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following: walking, bending, stretching, lifting, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, operating assigned equipment.

Ability to work flexible/overtime hours, as needed.

Requires valid NC driver’s license and ability to travel between various agency sites and community resources.
