Position Summary:
The internship and student employment coordinator position coordinates all phases of the Career Services internship program and student employment services with an emphasis on promoting development of career readiness competencies. This position assists with basic career coaching and participates in career services programming related to career development and job search.

Major Responsibilities:
- Career Services Internship Program
- Build internship program support through outreach to faculty, departments and students
- Consistently and regularly conduct outreach to employers (local, regional, and national)
- Provide one-on-one counseling and guidance for students seeking internships
- Monitor and serve as point of contact for career services internship sites; coordinate evaluation/intern appraisal process and grading
- Administer policies, procedures and forms with departments, academic deans, employers, Bursar, Registrar, Residence Life and Housing, Student Health Service, etc. regarding CPV , COM , ECO , SOC and other departmental internships as needed
- Coordinate internship affiliation agreements with local, regional and national employers, working with the Business Office and in communication with director of career services
- Coordinate application and selection process for SUNY incremental funded Internship and Living Stipends program, which includes managing individual student applications for 4 academic terms per year, ongoing, and recruiting and leading a faculty-staff team to assess and select SUNY special budget-funded stipends (competitive selection process), managing a budget, and supervising payment process
- Develop and coordinate additional paid on-campus internships per SUNY incremental funding, which includes advertising limited SUNY special-budget funded on-campus internship opportunities each semester, and advising on campus student hiring managers on internship development, advertising and selection, and managing a limited budget each semester
- Career Services Functions
- Provide individual career coaching appointments (basic job search, etc.)
- Provide career counseling including administration of Strong Interest Inventory assessment and interpretation
- Routinely participate in and support drop-in hours for resume/cover letter review
- Support Career Services programming through classroom presentations, student career development workshops, and collaborative programming across campus departments
- Student Employment Services ( SES )
- Engage in job development and employer outreach (tracking new contacts and notes in Handshake)
- Coordinate posting of on-campus, off-campus, and seasonal positions; assist students seeking part-time positions
- Collaborate and communicate with Human Resources staff regarding process for posting on-campus student assistant positions within the HR Applicant Tracking System ( ATS )/PeopleAdmin
- Assist on-campus employers with understanding on-campus student employment policies and assist with training on how to use the Applicant Tracking System ( ATS )/People Admin
- Direct and support the development of part-time and summer job opportunities by building relationships with local and on-campus employers and by curating a list of employer contacts for students
- Maintain required statistics and reporting data; maintain database of vacancy information and contacts
- Hire, train and supervise SES student workers
- Plan and deliver annual events including the Internship and Student Employment Fair, Career and Experience Fair (in collaboration with employer relations coordinator) and Student Employment recognition
- Support employer posting of part-time/seasonal jobs on Handshake
- Address questions about SES I-9 and W-4 paperwork to provide mandated documentation for student employees; enter verification through OnBase
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience with career development and job search process and/or recruitment techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- Experience with Handshake or similar employment/networking platform(s)
- Experience with college student employment processes and internships/applied learning
