We also provide assistance in promoting physical activity and access to healthy food.

Incumbents are assigned health education-oriented responsibilities for selected programs under the direction of the Program Administrator. Positions may be located in any of the major operating divisions of the Health Services Department.

Incumbents in this class work in Federal or State funded project positions administered by Contra Costa County and are exempt from the classified service.

· Research best practices for Policy, Systems and Environmental change (PSE) and prepare policy recommendations for strategies that support the goals and objectives of the program and improve the nutrition and physical activity environment.

· Provide training, technical assistance, and support for program partners, subcontractors, local community based and government agencies utilizing PSE strategies to improve the nutrition and physical activity environment in a variety of settings.

· Provide detailed information for and contribute to the development of program scope of activities, reports to the funder, as well as analyzing and summarizing data collected for assessing program needs and evaluation. Present project reports and findings from evaluation activities to partners and community stakeholders.

· Represent the program at local, regional and state sponsored events.

· Represent program goals and objectives in meetings with partners, subcontractors, educational institutions, local government agencies, community based-organizations, other Contra Costa Health Services programs and staff.

· Attend and participate in team and all-staff meetings.

· Attend trainings and workshops as mandated by funder and/or recommended by program manager.

· Other duties as assigned based on programmatic needs.

Administrative Activities:

· Ensure that all project activities are allowable under the guidelines set by the founder that those activities are appropriately documented.

· Enter and maintain data through an electronic tracking system.

· Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely, keep detailed records, and the ability to work well independently and as a team member is required.
