Job Title: Fencing Instructor

Job Type: Part-Time, Independent Contractor

Job Summary
The Fencing Instructor will play a pivotal role in introducing students to the art and sport of fencing, fostering their skills in technique, strategy, and sportsmanship. This position is vital to Concorde Education's mission of providing dynamic, engaging, and skill-focused extracurricular programs. The instructor will create a safe and inclusive environment where students can develop both physically and mentally, building confidence, discipline, and teamwork skills through fencing.

General Responsibilities

1. Design and implement a fencing curriculum tailored to the students' skill levels and interests.
2. Lead fencing sessions focusing on fundamentals, advanced techniques, strategy, and safety.
3. Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
4. Assess students' fencing skills and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
5. Collaborate with other instructors and program coordinators to integrate the fencing curriculum into broader educational offerings.
6. Track student progress and maintain accurate records of attendance and skill development.
7. Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and stakeholders regarding student progress and updates on the program.
8. Ensure that all fencing equipment is properly set up, maintained, and stored after each session.

Major Duties

1. Curriculum Development: Create lesson plans and activities that build foundational skills and advance over time, incorporating teamwork, strategy, and problem-solving.
2. Classroom Instruction: Lead interactive and engaging fencing classes, ensuring every student is actively participating and learning.
3. Student Assessment: Conduct regular evaluations of student progress, offering personalized feedback and adapting instruction to meet individual needs.
4. Community Building: Foster a team environment that emphasizes respect, fair play, and collaboration among students.
5. Safety Management: Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure all equipment is used properly and securely.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of attendance, skill assessments, and program outcomes, providing reports as required.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Fencing Expertise: Extensive knowledge of fencing techniques, rules, and safety standards, with experience in both instruction and active competition.
