Position: Farm Truck 912 Coordinator
The mission of the Forsyth Farmers’ Market is to promote understanding and participation in a local food system that supports sustainable production and increases access to local products.
Overview:
Forsyth Farmers Market is seeking a part time Farm Truck Coordinator for our Farm Truck 912 program. Farm Truck 912, a farmers’ market on wheels, is a project of the Forsyth Farmers’ Market and primarily serves neighborhoods with low access to fresh, healthy food. The Farm Truck coordinator will be responsible for procuring stock at our Saturday market, and taking Farm Truck 912 to our weekend locations.
Responsibilities include:
·Maintaining clean and organized food storage facilities
·Receive, store and input data into our Point of Sale application for all products
·Coordinate with the Education and Outreach Coordinator, and Farm Truck 912 Managers to plan and organize outreach and educational activities related to Farm Truck 912
·Promote FFM’s SNAP enrollment services and EBT doubling program; refer customers to appropriate staff for SNAP applications/renewals
·Promote Farm Truck 912 activities on social media
·Promote Farm Truck 912 to potential customers in vicinity of truck
·Consistently communicate with Farm Truck manager all necessary information pertaining to Farm Truck 912
·Other duties as assigned by Forsyth Farmers’ Market Exec. Director or Farm Truck 912 manager
Preferred Experience:
·Experience working in a diversity of communities, particularly low-income and predominantly African-American neighborhoods
·2+ years experience working in retail sales, customer service, and/or business management at a managerial level
·Experience working with/handling fresh produce
·Excellent organizational, writing and social skills
·Punctual and ability to work independently
·Bilingual, Spanish-speaking a plus
·Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and documents
·Experience working in outdoor settings in a variety of hard weather conditions
·Experience utilizing application software such as Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets
·Experience using social media applications, such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
Requirements:
Candidate must have a clean (no more than two moving violations in the past two years) driving record (will be checked) and current, valid Georgia Driver’s License. Candidate should also be comfortable with physical labor and able to lift at least 50 pounds of weight repeatedly. This a predominantly outdoors position, which will require an ability to withstand (under safe conditions) rain, extreme heat and cold weather, as well as consistent moving and shifting of moderately heavy weight (50 pounds). This job is 10-20 hours per week. Candidates must be able to work evenings and weekends. The position includes:
· Pay starting at $17.00 per-hour
· Accrued paid time off (up to 18 days)

Reporting:
The Farm Truck coordinator reports directly to the Farm Truck 912 Manager
