Job Description
HOMEBUILDERS® in-home family therapist positions (English and Spanish speaking) available in Kitsap and Pierce County, Washington. Must live in, or near Kitsap or Pierce County, Washington.
WHO WE ARE The Institute for Family Development's (IFD) internationally recognized Homebuilders program has openings for full-time, in-home therapists. Homebuilders is one of the oldest and most effective “intensive family preservation” programs in the country, and IFD is one of the leaders, and largest providers of home-based services for families in Washington State and across the country.
As a Homebuilders therapist, you will work with only 2 families at a time, enabling you to provide intensive and responsive services to families with children/youth at imminent risk of out of home placement, or children being reunified.
Homebuilders is an "evidence-based program", and designated with the highest as a “Well Supported” program for the Federal Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA). IFD works with states throughout the US, as well as other countries to develop and implement Homebuilders programs. This is your opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children, youth and families and work for an organization that is a leader in the child welfare field.
Social justice is a foundational value of our organization, and we are fully committed to creating an anti-racist, equitable and inclusive agency culture where all staff thrive. To reach this goal we are committed to workforce equity. Equitable recruitment, support, and retention is how we will obtain the most diverse, highest quality workforce that shares, and helps us advance, our mission and values.
"A Social Justice approach to child welfare requires confronting racial and class bias, it requires concrete help for poor families, it requires humble tasks, and it requires stepping out of the role of noble healer and into the role of partner." Richard Wexler, executive director of the National Coalition for Child Protection Reform WHAT WE OFFER A supportive team environment; excellent clinical supervision; licensure supervision for LISCW and MFT and LMHC; and comprehensive and ongoing training that includes: Homebuilders Core Skills, Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention, CBT and Domestic Violence. Depending on the program, the position may also include 60 CEU hours of workshop training in the initial year.
