Job Description

The Environmental Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety policies in the workplace. This includes conducting risk assessments of Lead, Radon, Mold, and other hazardous conditions, providing health and safety training to staff, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations. The selected candidate will be passionate about the Authority’s mission and will strive to advance the mission, vision, and values to internal and external stakeholders

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards in the CMHA owned properties and buildings
  • Provide health and safety training to staff members
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Prepare and present health and safety reports
  • Investigate workplace accidents and incidents
  • Coordinate emergency procedures, mine rescues, firefighting and first aid crews
  • Develop and maintain health and safety records

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Health and Safety Administrator or in a similar role, with a proven track record in managing health and safety programs.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, motivational and leadership abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for data analysis and risk assessment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

A valid Ohio driver’s license with fully insurable driving record.
