Job Description

As an Electrical Design Manager, you will play a key role in leading and supervising a dynamic team of electrical engineers. Your expertise will guide the team in complex electrical design projects, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to industry standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled leader with experience in managing intricate multi-discipline projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Electrical Design team, overseeing daily operations and workload distribution.
Plan, coordinate, and manage electrical engineering aspects of projects, including lighting, power distribution, IT systems (voice and data), access control, electronic safety, and fire alarm systems for commercial, institutional, and public facilities.
Develop project proposals, including defining project scope, tasks, budgets, and schedules.
Conduct site investigations and inspections, providing actionable recommendations to ensure project standards and requirements are met.
Review and ensure the accuracy and code compliance of contract documents and project reports.
Attend project meetings and present key aspects of engineering assignments or projects.
Serve as a direct point of contact for clients, designers, and contractors, providing updates on project cost, staffing, and scheduling.
Assist in preparing project status reports, contract documents, and engineer's estimates by organizing project data effectively.
Actively seek out new clients and projects, and contribute to marketing efforts.
Support recruitment efforts by assisting with job descriptions, resume reviews, interviews, and selecting candidates for the Electrical team.
Flexibility with occasional nights and weekends if required, with minimal advance notice.
Essential Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
A minimum of 10 years of formal training and experience in Electrical Engineering, with at least 5 years as a Technical Team Leader.
Experience as a group leader or project engineer on complex, multi-discipline projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with the ability to guide staff in using these tools.
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code and relevant industry standards.
Familiarity with SKM and/or ETAP systems analysis is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word; experience with MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS SharePoint is a plus.
Required Skills & Abilities:

Proven track record of leadership in electrical design projects, with the ability to supervise and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design, with a strong understanding of applicable codes and standards.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up effectively.
Exceptional ability to collaborate with employees, management, and clients across all levels.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle privileged client information appropriately.
Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
