Job Summary: As a Critical Care Float Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple world-renowned specialties to deliver hope and healing to patients from around the world in some of our most high acuity areas. This role supports the NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center Critical Care inpatient units including the Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, Neuroscience ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Step-Down Units, and more. Nurses in this dynamic role support the state-of-the-art Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns by recovering post-Cesarean Section and post-procedural obstetrical patients in the PACU and by playing a critical role in maternal emergency response.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients in high acuity areas
Work autonomously in high-pressure situations
Care for Post-Cesarean Section patients/ Obstetrical emergencies
Float to different specialties as needed
Follow established protocols, policies, procedures, and standards
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient care
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
Qualifications:
Minimum two years of experience as a Critical Care RN
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Current NYS RN licensure
BCLS and ACLS certification
Proven experience working autonomously in high-pressure situations
Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple patient assignments effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
Flexibility to work different shifts and float to different specialties as needed
Preferred Criteria: Experience with caring for Post-Cesarean Section patients/ Obstetrical emergencies
