Responsibilities

Control Systems Engineers at Eastman are responsible for developing and maintaining automation solutions for a wide variety of manufacturing processes in domestic and international locations. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• DCS/PLC/HMI/Safety System design and programming in a variety of formats and platforms. 
• DCS, PLC, and HMI programming. 
• Development and design of the control system strategy and architecture. 
• Configuration and management of industrial communication equipment. 
• Cost estimate and schedule development for projects. 
• Purchasing and acceptance testing of hardware and software. 
• System integration with existing equipment. 
• System simulation, start up, and check-out. 
• Lifecycle management activities from conception to dismantlement. 
• SIS and SIL rated safety equipment. 
• Candidate may become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the following areas: control system networking and industrial instrumentation devices. 
• Engineering drawing development, review and approval. 
• Project Technical Leader on industrial automation. 
• Potential for 10% travel. 

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronic or Chemical highly preferred) from an ABET accredited college or university 
• 5 years of experience designing, commissioning and maintenance of Control Systems (Highly Preferred: Honeywell DCS experience (TPS/TPN and Experion PKS)
• Project leadership skills 
• Strong oral and written communication skills 
• Experience with DeltaV / Ovation, NovaTech D3, Siemens PCS7 / OSx, or Yokogawa Centum) 
• Experience with PLC equipment (ex. Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, Honeywell, or Modicon) 
• Experience with Safety Systems (ex. Rockwell Trusted, Emerson DeltaV, Triconex)
