REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR OF FACILITIES DEPARTMENT

POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a responsible position specializing in coordination of new construction, remodeling, and renovation projects for the District Facilities Department. This position coordinates construction projects with the Facilities Department, design professionals, contractors, sub-contractors, utility providers, vendors, and the District Technical Services and Purchasing Departments. This individual serves in a project management capacity, as the District’s representative.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
L-Light Work – Required to push, pull, or lift up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Atmospheric Conditions The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions may affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. Heat The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures are above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Indoors/Outdoors The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. Noise The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Vibration The worker is subject to vibration. There is exposure to oscillating movement of the extremities and/or the whole body.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Education – Bachelor’s degree in architecture, building construction, or related field from an accredited educational institution. Master’s degree preferred. 
• Experience – Minimum five years of verifiable successful administrative or management experience in construction and/or an equivalent combination of education and training in construction management.
• Computer Skills – Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology, as required for the position. Experience in data entry and Microsoft Suite. 
• Certificates and/or License(s) – Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license. Must have certification in the State Requirements of Educational Facilities (SREF) or be able to obtain certification within eleven months from the date of hire.
