Position Highlights

This position works with CRCs and PI's/Research Scientist and supports the data collection for a number of lifestyle intervention clinical trials including: collecting subject data from telephone interviews, tracking subjects on their measurement progress, maintaining logs to send to clinical sites, guiding undergraduate research assistants to complete contact protocols, preparing and shipping wearable devices, and conducting behavioral questionnaire processing.

The incumbent must be available to work in-person when Behavioral Measurement and Interventions Shared Resource (BMISR) student research assistants, trainees, or other staff are working on-site.

This is an extended temporary position expected to last a little over 6 months - Jan 2025 start to mid-July 2025, at 0.5 FTE.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collect and enter subject data from telephone interviews for 8 to 10 clinical trials.
  • Telephone interviews include 24-hour dietary recalls, 7-day physical activity recalls and patient-reported outcome questionnaires.
  • Maintain logs and reports to track adherence to study contact protocols and communicate with clinical sites about subjects who are difficult to reach.
  • Guide undergraduate research assistants to contact and complete telephone assessments with subjects according to protocols.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing calls to assure that student research assistants return participant calls in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and ship wearable sensor devices to clinical study subjects and process data to prepare for analysis.
  • Communicate with research participants to ensure they understand how to wear and return the devices according to protocol.
  • Build data collection forms in REDCap and Qualtrics for clinical trials under the direction of a Clinical Research Coordinator and Research Scientist.
  • Manage survey invitations according to protocol and monitor survey data collection progress.
  • Train undergraduate student RAs in processing scantron questionnaires used in clinical trials.
  • Conduct questionnaire processing and quality assurance steps using existing statistical programs and protocols to generate data output files that will be used in analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
