Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Access to Care, the Clinical Data Analyst position will be responsible for managing and analyzing clinical data to support our organization’s decision-making processes, improve patient outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency. The Clinical Data Analyst will work closely with healthcare providers, clinical teams, IT professionals, and executive stakeholders to ensure data integrity and optimize the use of analytics, KPI reporting and Electronic Health Record (EHR) system data extraction.
This position is ONSITE in Ewing, NJ, no relocation. Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze clinical data from various sources, including EHR systems, and other business intelligence platforms used by the organization.
- Develop and maintain databases and data collection systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Perform data validation and quality checks to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
- Design and implement EHR templates to capture relevant clinical data efficiently.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure templates meet clinical and operational needs.
- Optimize existing templates based on feedback and evolving requirements.
- Generate and distribute regular reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support clinical and operational decision-making.
- Develop and maintain performance measurement tools and systems.
- Work with E.H.R. stakeholders, IT, and clinical staff to troubleshoot data issues and implement solutions.
- Train and support healthcare providers in the use of EHR templates and data reporting tools.
- Participate in cross functional teams and projects to support data driven initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and data privacy standards, including HIPAA.
- Implement and adhere to data security protocols to protect sensitive patient information.
- Other responsibilities as assigned or as needed to support department or organizational goals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights;
- Ability to interpret complex data and present it in a clear and understandable manner.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA and other data privacy laws; understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and proficiency in data analysis software such as SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Ability to generate and interpret reports and dashboards for tracking KPIs and other metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey data insights to nontechnical stakeholders; ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, IT staff, and other team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, participate in cross functional teams and contribute to data driven initiatives.
Required Licenses or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years experience in clinical data analysis, preferably in a healthcare setting, including application of statistical methods to analyze clinical data.
- Experience with data analysis software such as SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience in designing and implementing EHR templates to capture relevant clinical data.
