We are seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Carpenter Crafts & Trades III (CT3) to join our team! This role specializes in truss repairs.
This position is a temporary position working in the Campus Services Housing Facilities department. A successful applicant will be tasked with roof truss repairs in the Main Apartment Complex and Templewood apartments. Work will be in the attic spaces of these two housing complexes repairing nail gang plates, split trusses and any other repairs as directed by the engineers to insure the roof is functioning properly and able to maintain the required snow loads.
A successful applicant should be able to work in an attic environment to included reduced space and exposure to fiberglass batt insulation. The applicant must be familiar with reading and interpreting blueprints. Experience and safety with power and hand tools and use of PPE is required. Ability to lift and hold lumber and tools. Maintain continuous quality work and review of that work. Perform routine daily cleaning of the job space.
Minimum Qualifications:
Journeyman level or equivalent certification in the Carpentry field with extensive related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. An unrestricted Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required.
CT3 Carpenter journeyman level with 15 years of experience. Candidates who qualify for an interview will complete a CT3 competency test.Position Details:
This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, non-exempt temporary staff position.

Salary Information: CT3 /Step 1 $31.64/hr. (See Article 9.2 in the L6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, Wage Grade Schedule ).
