The office of Scholars is seeking highly motivated applicants to fill Admissions Reviewer position in part-time and temporary capacity.
The Admissions Reviewer reviews freshman and transfer applications during current admission season by utilizing a holistic assessment of the complete application using a personal computer remotely. Candidates will be required to objectively evaluate information in a timely and professional manner while paying attention to detail. Must be able to conduct all activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards consistent with all state and federal accreditation and institutional rules and regulations regarding student recruitment. Must be motivated, organized, thoughtful, and diplomatic. Ability to process, address, and prioritize confidential information.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A PART-TIME SEASONAL POSITION - FLEXIBLE WEEKDAY HOURS BETWEEN 8A.M. AND 5 P.M./SEASON; MAY WORK 19 HOURS PER WEEK WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO INCREASE HOURS FOR A LIMITED TIME DURING PEAK SEASON.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in higher education
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to evaluate and review applications using computer technology
Must be able to maintain weekly reports of all activities and adhere to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Other requirements:
This position requires the use of a personal computer
Must be motivated, organized, thoughtful, and diplomatic
Weekend and/or extended work hours may be necessary and required during peak periods of the review cycle
Preferred Experience:
Experience reviewing applications in an academic, counseling or related setting
Experience with an institution of higher education
Experience with youth
Outreach and recruitment experience
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of higher education admissions, academic advising or related skills
Working knowledge of higher education application process particularly the application process at Tarleton State University.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
Knowledge of FERPA
Organizational and leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
