Job Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking 25 Flightline Aircraft Mechanics (FRT - Level B) or a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.
*This position is 100% ONSITE.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works under supervision with limited understanding of the job. Performs final component installation and systems operational functional testing. Performs rework, modification, maintenance, preflight and post-flight checks for delivery, inspect and document non-conformance following detailed verbal or written instructions on items with limited complexity.
HARD REQUIREMENTS:
o Must be able to work any shift including days, nights and weekends
o Minimum 3 months experience with live aircraft systems and flight operations
o The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
o Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms
o Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
o Pass visual acuity and color perception tests
o Experience understanding and interpreting detailed written and verbal work instructions and processes
o Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material
o Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
o Occasional (1 to 3 hrs.) finger manipulation
o On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs.
o Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs.)
o Frequent walking on flat surfaces
o Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces
o Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces
o Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands
o Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/st
o Occasional contact with metals
o Frequent exposure to noise
o Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training.
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
FAA Airframe & Power Plant license
1+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 3 months of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.
Minimum 3 months of 787 Program Experience.
Familiar with Client Production System.
Experience with Field/Flight Line Operations.
EDUCATION:
Accredited education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g., High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years` related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate). Successfully completing training is a contingency for this assignment.
WORK HOURS: MUST BE OPEN TO WORKING 1st, 2nd or 3rd SHIFT.

MISCELLANEOUS:
This work assignment has been designated as "safety sensitive" by the Client. Contractors assigned to safety sensitive jobs at the Client site must first complete regulatory preplacement requirements prior to reporting to assignment. Additionally, contractors assigned to safety sensitive work will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal mandates.
